The small historic town of Yongala is situated 11km south of Peterborough. Having been proclaimed a town on May 23rd 1876, it soon grew from a single tent and iron shed to 86 houses and a population of 353 as it was believed that the railways would come through the town but they went to Peterborough instead.

Yongala is a peaceful, attractive town, close to Peterborough's facilities, full of history and surrounded by scenery.
